The common room wasn’t as noisy as it usually was. In fact it was almost too quiet. Liz had been wondering were all the other students were when she had entered the room and sat down on the couch infront of the bright burning fire. They probably were outside, enjoying the weather.
With a contended sigh she leaned back into the red pillows. It was nice to sit down here with no one around but actually she was missing some company. Liz had been talking to this new student, Leon, earlier and told him that she was waiting here in the common room if he needed her and now she was curious if he would really turn up.
It had been a rough first day for Leon. It wasn’t anything that he did not expect, the new school would take some time to get used to. He carefully walked into the Gryffindor Common Room, glad to see it being almost empty. There was something about him which made other students, mainly girls stop and stare at him, and he couldn’t help but feel slightly unusual about it.
He wondered if Miss Liz was there as she said, but he couldb’t blame her if she wasn’t, but she was there, and he was rather glad she was willing to help him. “Hello, Miss Liz.” he said in a quiet tone as not to alarm her.
